The Markham Squeeze trade Nick Swisher, Jeremy Affeldt and a 4th round draft pick
to The Bleeding Ulcers for Brandon Belt, Marlon Byrd and a 15th round draft pick

EDITED - The Draft Pick will be changed to TBU's 25th round draft pick in place of the 15th. When I originally indicated the 15th, I thought of it as a depth round pick, not the potentially impactful pick it can be.

How is it that Nathan who was taken in the 4th basically goes for a 4th but two guys who were both taken in the 2nd not only go for a 4th but a 15th goes back as well??
This one doesn't pass the smell test....

5 Seriously? on Wed Dec 03, 2014 3:30 pm

Guys,

There was nothing untoward happening here. Kevin and I negotiated the deal and we agreed upon the price.

6 You Negotiated? That Must Make it OK.... on Wed Dec 03, 2014 4:27 pm

If the trade is so lop sided that it is not in the interest of the league then I think the3 fact you negotiated is irrelevant.

Last season (with more games gone), Belt and Darren O'Day went for a 2nd. This deal is a steaming pile of dung and I think it needs to be re-visited...

Boys,

The CABAL will look into the deal and make a judgment on whether it can be repealed or not.

In conjunction with the CABAL the participants agreed to switch out the 15th round pick for a 25th round pick.  The trade has been processed with that change.

Warren

Edit: It was actually the 25th pick that went back.... and is Chris Morin actually commenting on the quality of a trade. That's rich.... Wink TBGBL

Actually, the participants made the choice of their own accord to switch the 15th to a 25th..... symantics.
