RAWKEN HAWKS

RAWKEN HAWKS

There are a few candidates for this award.  Some with more wins but worse numbers, a couple with better numbers but less wins.

I think that deGrom has the right mix of wins and stats to cut through the field for the win.

He was 16-8 on the season which is a .667 winning percentage compared to my team average of .531 so he was by far the ace of the staff.  He was Pitcher of the Week four times (tops in the league) June 5-11, July 11-17, Aug 15-21 and Sept 19-25.  He was also Pitcher of the Month for June.
He lost (or the bullpen lost) two 1-0 games, a 2-1 game and a 6-5 loss where he gave up 3 runs in 8 innings.  He kept the team in 4 games that relievers ended up winning.  He had 2 shutouts and 4 other starts that were team shutouts.

Here he is all over the very top of the major pitching categories leading off with his league leading ERA:
#1 in ERA 2.50
#2 in WHIP
#2 in Slugging Against
#2 in runners per 9 innings
Tied for 2nd in Quality Starts
#2 On Base plus Slugging
Tied for 4th in wins (16 although there are multiple pitchers with 18 and 17)
#6 in Strikeouts
Batting Average tied for 4th
#4 in On Base
These three #2:
Runs created per 27 outs
Runs Created ERA
Component ERA
